Elliott M. Lavietes is a Tax Principal at Schulman Lobel Zand Katzen Williams & Blackman LLP. He has over 25 years of diverse tax experience. Elliott has developed a niche in State & Local taxation as well as representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and State & Local taxing authorities. Elliott also has extensive experience in handling corporate, partnership, international, and high net worth individual matters.
Prior to joining Schulman Lobel Zand Katzen Williams & Blackman, LLP, Elliott spent many years in a Big 4 tax department as well as being a Tax Partner at Citrin Cooperman, LLP and a Tax Director at CBIZ. Throughout his career, Elliott has been a frequent lecturer on corporate income tax nexus & sales tax nexus issues. Elliott enjoys implementing tax strategies for businesses as well as individuals. He also has been actively involved in mentoring staff members.
Elliott received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College, his MBA from St. John’s University, and a MS in tax from Pace University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York and is a member of the AICPA & New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
