Michael E. Williams, CPA, CGMA, MS is a partner at Schulman Lobel Zand Katzen Williams & Blackman, LLP. His practice is highly concentrated in providing a multitude of privately-held companies, non-profit organizations and individuals with various tax, accounting, auditing and related consulting services. With a background that extends across many industries, Michael’s no nonsense approach has provided him a long history of being able to adapt to the ever changing regulatory environment. He works with many closely-held and multi-generational family owned businesses, assisting them in effective financial and tax planning for new ventures, continuing operations and for next generation succession planning.

Michael’s arts and entertainment practice assists those on both sides of the camera including actors, musicians, producers and other industry professionals as well as non-profit theater companies, theatrical and other touring companies and Off-Broadway productions performed in New York City.

Prior to joining Schulman Lobel, Michael was the sole shareholder of Michael Williams, CPA, PC.

His education includes a Master of Science in Taxation from The Bernard M Baruch College, City University of New York in February 1996, and a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics from the College at Oneonta, State University of New York in May 1988.

Michael holds professional licenses in both New York State and California as a Certified Public Accountant and he has earned the distinction as a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Michael is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (serving as a member of its Closely Held and S Corporation Committee since June 1998, Chair 2014-2016), the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Michael serves as Chair of the Audit Committee and as a member of the Finance Committee of The State University College at Oneonta Foundation Corporation.
